With assistance from Indigo, a project company that helps promote ideas and solutions, we have been able to work with Teaching Staff at Whitehorse High School, in the San Juan District of Utah. In this project we help develop curriculum, lesson plans, and activities for their very own class about Business.

Observations

During the beginning of December, I went to Johnson County Community Colleges. While there I observed History Professors who would teach students about World history and its overall influence on society. When Observations ended, I met with the Professor who allowed me to Observe in which he gave me specific tips and ideas about a future in history education.

During the Month of November, I went to Blue Valley North. During my time there, I observed numerous teachers who taught different units and subjects in regards to history. In the 3 classes I observed, I was able to analyze the teacher in the way they teach and how they are able to maintain control over a classroom full of high school students. This helped introduce me to other ways of teaching and maintaining calm, and focused classroom environment.

Throughout the entire semester, I went to Sunrise Point Elementary, my old school, and Observed. When I arrived there, I would before-hand do lunch duty, and then recess duty with 5th Graders. During a portion of my time there, I would stay later and observe one of the 5th Grade teachers after their recess period was over. In his class I was introduced to overall activities that went on in the classroom, along with how they were approached and put into action. I learned especially form him about ways to maintain a clam environment and that getting to know students on a personal level so they have a mutual respect for each other that is demonstrated in the classroom with good behavior and professional rule following.
